First Homecoming | U-M 20, Cornell 7 (11/16/1912)

Following the University of Missouri’s invention of “Homecoming” at the Border War game in 1911*, Michigan celebrates its first homecoming game with a 20-7 win over Cornell, just the team’s second win all-time against the men from Ithaca.

(Michigan’s record against Cornell all-time is 6-12, the most games under .500 it is to any opponent.)

(*-Yes, we know Illinois claims to have invented homecoming in 1910, but as MVictors’ Greg Dooley will tell you, Michigan invited former players back for an alumni game as early as 1898 so really, we’re arguing over semantics here.)
