UCLA defeated Michigan and its star, Cazzie Russell 91-80. The Bruins shot 56.9% and were led by Gail Goodrich’s 42 points. With the win, they became the 5th team to win consecutive championships. Michigan d. Princeton in the Final Four semis 93-76 to earn its 1st of 5 championship game berths.
