Welcoming the Huskers | U-M 45, Nebraska 17 (11/19/2011)
Michigan hosts Nebraska in the first Big Ten match-up between the two schools ever (and their first meeting since the 2005 Alamo Bowl debacle.) Michigan Stadium plays host to Military Appreciation Day and pays tribute to Lloyd Carr being inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame with a pre-game card stunt.
This game marks a hilarious glitch where the power failed at the south end of the end zone and the press box, meaning that only the north end zone scoreboard was working consistently. This led to the necessity of Michigan’s student section helping the Michigan offense while it was moving toward the south end zone by counting out the play clock as it counted down. They then also “helped” Nebraska, by counting off the play clock for the Huskers incorrectly.
Michigan wins handily by a 45-17 score, but cannot take over the Legends Division lead from Michigan State.
