Expanded Wangler to Carter (30th Anniversary edition).

A repost, originally from January 2008:

Check out Brian Cook’s AOL Fanhouse post [sorry, AOL removed the link?] on the new montage put together by the talented “expressfan”. It’s not just your same old Wangler to Carter.

He’s got clips from the Bo and Brandstatter on Michigan Replay talking about the play and about broadcasting legend Bob Ufer. Plus, he thankfully includes a great clip of two plays prior to the famous pass when Michigan threw the ball right into Indiana coach Lee Corso’s hands to kill the clock. In one of the Ufer recordings (not provided here) you hear him talk about this but I don’t think I’ve ever seen it. It’s hilarious. Here’s the YouTube:

Thanks for the extended clip. It gets me everytime I hear it.

BTW – Brian is not on AOL anymore, he is w/ the Sporting News.

Corso should be more upset about the IU defense on that last play – 3 guys might have been able to make a play, but that was a simple post pattern.

Greg, you mentioned some fantastic Michigan finishes after the ND game two weeks ago. It seems like there have been an abundance of games decided on the very last play of the game in Michigan Stadium. Here are the ones I can think of since the ’79 Michigan/IU:

    1979 – Michigan – Indiana
    1986 – Michigan – Iowa
    1994 – Colorado – Michigan
    1995 – Michigan – Virginia
    2002 – Michigan – Washington
    2005 – Michigan – Penn State

Any others? And then all the games decided in the final few seconds…. Some incredible history in the old stadium.
