Where did you find this epic track? When this song originally came out, my best bud Jeremy Sprague and I penned our own Detroit Lions-related lyrics. We must have been in 3rd grade. We had a line about every team in the NFL and the only one I can remember is “…. and Pittsburgh’s in the river….” (a nod to Three Rivers Stadium). I’d give anything to find the notebook containing those lyrics — it’s like the Holy Grail of my youth.

Probably subconsciously — I didn’t really discover Bruce until a few years later. I think my favorite song at the time (aside from this timeless Spiderman Allen cut) was still Glen Campbell’s “Rhinestone Cowboy.” I still remember the first time I heard it on the radio, in the back seat of our big old Buick, before “car seats” and “seat belt laws” became popular, when kids could roll around and dance and wreck havok.
