ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Charles Woodson wants to be known as more than a football player.
Donating $2 million to the new University of Michigan Mott Children’s Hospital and Women’s Hospital gives him a chance to do that.
The school announced Woodson’s gift on Thanksgiving before he played for the Green Bay Packers against the Detroit Lions. The money will support pediatric research by The Charles Woodson Clinical Research Fund in the $754-million, 1.1-million square foot hospital scheduled to open in 2012.
@MVictors Woodson: 1 TD, 2 INT, 7 tackles, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery, 1 sack, 1 Heisman Pose, whilst covering Calvin Johnson- 2 catches, 10 yards

Did you see the ESPN.com article (from the AP) on the game that said Woodson struck the Heisman pose in 1997? I think they mixed him up with Desmond.
Greg (MVictors)
Yep, I’ve never seen Woodson strike it

Bad Fox – they didn’t know what hit them.

Once a douchebag, always a douchebag.

@Tex
RIGHT – Woodson’s always been a douche, donating millions to the hospital is a real douche-like move. You are a putz

IIRC Woodson was quoted post-OSU in 97 as saying that he tried to strike the heisman after his punt return but was mobbed by his teammates before he could do it. If you watch a replay it looks like he’s trying to do it right before they jump on him.

@Anonymous Fox screwed up about 12 times on who-scored-when in that game.

Not only was Woodson the best college player and DB in the nation in 1997 he is still the best DB in the pros. Several pro football experts confirmed this Monday night.
