It’s time. The players have waited an entire year for this game. The coaches have been pointing to it. The fans are tired of hearing about 62.
Yes, I know Michigan methodically just took care of Indiana, but it is officially Ohio State Week. Much like in 1969, the players wanted the Bucks right after dismembering Iowa.
These 2019 Wolverines want the Buckeyes just the same. It’s here. It’s time. Bring ’em on! Oh – here are your Hoosier-Daddy Champions:
OFFENSIVE CHAMPION – The offense is peaking at just the right time. Shea Patterson is playing as well as he has ever played as a Wolverine. He’s not turning the ball over (I’m not worried about that late INT at the end of the game.) He’s making great throws and great decisions. Four TD’s last week and now five this week?!?! The roll that #2 is on, reminds me of the roll Steve Smith went on at the end of the 1983 season. The senior Smith was putting up video-game like numbers, and now Shea is putting up the same type of jaw-dropping stats. He’s playing with confidence. The receivers are playing with confidence. Everybody on offense is playing with confidence. It gives me a lot of confidence heading into THE GAME!
DEFENSIVE CHAMPION – Aidan Hutchinson is playing lights out right now. He tallied 7 tackles, 1 sacks and 1 tackle-for-loss. He’s making plays at the line, when he comes around the corner on stunts, or when he just decides to grab an IU ball-carrier, pick him up, and literally throw him backwards! WoW – that was impressive to see! He’s playing with a ton of confidence right now, but I also think the entire defense has that same confidence about them. I love to see that, especially with the Buckeyes coming to town this week!
SPECIAL TEAMS CHAMPION – Can I give this to Dylan McCaffrey? I love the 2-point call and how effortless #10 made it look. When this guys gets in the game, he makes plays – whether it’s from the pocket, or on extra points. Just one more play and one more player for the Bucks to worry about.
