Terp Tested | Sights & Sounds (Michigan 34, Maryland 27)

We were warned all week: the Terps can play. They did play indeed, almost enough to spoil Homecoming and Parents & Family weekend. Wins are precious, and to get the victory with a pile of tape to review in the end is a good thing. I look forward to see how the team responds in Iowa City against the pesky Hawks. To the homecoming Sights & Sounds:

Price is So Money

Give it up for 91-year-old alumnus, cheerleader Larry Price, class of 1953:

I also happened to catch LP strolling down the tunnel before the game.

Mood Creeps Down

Similar to 2021’s Rutgers game, the Mood moved down a tad after a win

LeBron Bolt

It was pretty easy to spot 5-star super athlete Nyck Harbor on the sideline. Again, I rarely post photos of recruits but I have a feeling this guy is moving on to big things in the sports world:

Uni Timeline – not much

While many players wore high maize socks/leggings, that’s not fully uniform-timeline-worthy. So the program win sticker #979 for your files:

MMB Overlays

Now if I had a Michigan Marching Band uniform timeline this would be worthy. The MMB unveiled new all-blue ‘overlays’ for this game – did you notice?

And a nice touch for acknowledging a weird bit of gender exclusion in the marching band – 50 years since the first women joined the MMB (which has its roots back in 1897):

Spartan Pranksters in 1949

A fun edition of This Week in Michigan Football History that aired Saturday. (P.S. I may start pushing these clips up on a podcast feed):

Hawks Hate You

Now that we’re back into the Big Ten schedule, a slice of the Hate Index for you – this time the Hawk edition:

Go Blue!
